Manager Training Programme BMWK/GIZ

(Cologne, 16 - 27 May 2022)

The Manager Training Programme is financed by funds from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK). On behalf of the BMWK, the GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) acts as general programme manager on the German side of the programme. The Manager Training Programme is an element of the foreign economic policy of the BMWK and it promotes the business relations between Germany and Egypt.

The programme includes a preparation phase and a 6-week online phase with virtual trainings and virtual company visits. This phase is intended to prepare the participants for the 2-week stay in Germany, where the programme includes training as well as "first-hand experience of the German economy". This practice phase is mainly based in Cologne. The programme includes preparation for long-term business relations with German companies as well as support in organising and conducting individual meetings.

All trainers have a profound professional experience in companies or as entrepreneurs. Beyond  that the majority has many years of experience in an intercultural business context. All virtual and non-virtual company visits will be introduced by the tutors. Support or individual assistance will be provided if required. Besides trainings and business contacts you are requested to work out a paper on a specific cooperation topic of your choice, related with your personal and company’s goals for the programme.

The participants will have to work on this task individually, focusing on the skills and insights gained during the programme as well as on obstacles and problems that might arise when implementing new structures in your own company. The tutors are always available for you to discuss and structure the cooperation project. During the evaluating workshop, which takes place at the end of the programme, individual interviews concerning the above-mentioned paper will give a profound summary of the main results of the programme and a basis for critical reflection and discussion on practical applications in Egypt.

This programme is financed by funds of the German federal budget. Every participant of the management programme is expected to take an active part in all programme events. Theirsuccess in this programme will be measured by concrete indicators as your corporation project and the success in carrying it out will be evaluated.

The Commercial Office is joining the participants for their opening workshop in Cologne and is ready to connect any interested German company with interesting Egyptian companies ready for succesful business cooperations.
